The Department of  state supervision of primary, vocational secondary education and adult education institutions is included in the management plan of the Agency for supervision in the field of education and science under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and implements a unified policy of state supervision in primary, vocational secondary education  and adult education institutions and in its activities is accountable to the Director of the Agency for supervision in education and science under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

  The Department of  state supervision of primary, vocational secondary education and adult education institutions with the purpose of implementing a unified policy of state supervision in the field of education supervises the execution of statutory and regulatory enactments and state educational standards  o primary, vocational secondary education and adult education institutions, at the same time in the course of planning evaluates the organization of the educational and fostering  process, the qualitative level of knowledge of students, schoolchildren and other areas of activity of educational institutions.  

 The main powers of the department of state supervision of primary, vocational secondary education and adult education institutions:

- law enforcement and other statutory and regulatory enactments in the field of of primary, vocational secondary education and adult education institutions;

- put forward a proposal on the activities of primary, vocational secondary education and adult education institutions; 

- according to plan conducts state attestation, accreditation of primary, vocational secondary education and adult education institutions;

- pursuant to  the consultative  decision of the Agency in the city and  after its execution by the order of the Director of the Agency, it provides  primary, vocational secondary education and adult education institutions with a license for the right to pursuit  of  educational activities and  accreditation certificate for compliance with  the status of the institution;

- on issues relating to  its competence in accordance with the established procedure, hosts  conferences, seminars and consultative meetings, participates in educational and scientific measures at the city and the republican level;

  The chief of the department  shall be appointed and discharged from the post by the director of the Agency.   

  According to payroll and job description schedule of state administrative officers of state services there are one operating unit of the chief of the department, 3 senior specialists, 2 leading specialists and 1 specialist, who shall be appointed and discharged from the post by the director of the Agency for supervision in the field of education and science under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
